Home installer for years

VB has long been the in-house installer for Frank van Kleef and his partners Koert and Bart van den Ende. With the move from Made to Middenmeer, they were one of the first pioneers to move to large-scale production. A plot of 100 hectares (247 acres) of land was purchased. Agriport A7 grew steadily and VB grew with it. VB was also allowed to realize the geothermal heat projects in Middenmeer, which enabled it to assist its own client to become more sustainable.

The first 30 hectare (74 acre) phase was completed in 2006 with two identical 15 hectare (37 acre) greenhouses. The following year, the next phase was built, which meant that within 2 years, the entire project had become one of the largest tomato greenhouses in the Netherlands in a single location. VB has also been involved in the realization of the subsequent expansions, and because of those, the total cultivation area has now increased to 70 hectares (173 acres).

Royal Pride Holland connected its first 60 hectares (148 acres) of greenhouses to two energy centers, each with its own CHP installation and heat buffer. Geothermal connections have also been installed here. For the final phase, a separate energy room was built with a new 10,000 m3 buffer tank, two new CHPs and an 11 MW backup boiler. The energy center was designed and adapted to allow for further future expansion to 40 hectares (99 acres).
